I've always for as long as I can remember, had a camera in my hand. Even as a small child I was that kid that ran around, crossed lines, hung out the car windows and took all those croocked wacky pictures. Well, today I still do more or less the same thing, my equipment is just more expensive. Here's one I took hanging off the side of an airboat in the Florida swamps.
I've always loved landscapes and nature shots. It's something I can just spend my quiet time doing, soaking in beauty and taking pictures in peace. It's my quiet place. You see I grew up a Navy Brat and have lived all over the world, and moved very often. I was very fortunate to have something I really loved to do that I could do anywhere at any time.
Needless to say, I have more than your average number of photo albums. I have a very large plastic bin containing several large Ziploc bags within. All my negatives, from all my different cameras, large, small, round, flat and thin, or regular old 35mm film are sealed safely and close at hand. One day I hope to slowly go through my treasured negatives and find the gems that I know are hidden within.
So for those that wonder or have asked, "How long have you been a photographer?" The answer would be all my life. How long have I been taking pictures for other people? I'd say several years.
So back to one of my favorite things. I love taking pictures and catching that one thing I see that would be so perfect in a captured moment. I've been taking pictures for as long as I can remember, and will probably always have a camera close at hand. So for those of you that know me ~smiles~ you've been warned.
