The Snyder Family |
I know it's a strange title, but rather fitting.
While second shooting for a family portrait session I did in late January, I used a polarized lens on my camera for the early morning beach shoot. The filter worked beautifully in the sunshine with the brilliant light reflecting off the water.
However, all the pictures taken while in the shade from the cliffs turned out purple. I ended up with half the pictures I had from that shoot purple.
Thank goodness for Photoshop, shooting in RAW and the opportunity to learn my lesson the hard way without any negative results on the completed portrait package.
So, the core meaning of this post is to remind you, if you're going to use a filter, know what to expect in different lighting conditions, before you need it for something important.
A thumbs up to lesson learned...
